Plenty of photos on Google images - here's one that seems apt...

Thank you Fancier Sir
I knew you'd find something. I think that's about a 1980 model (the car, not the girl) ![]() |

Apologies for being pedantic, Harman, and probably boring everyone who's more ntetrested in models' bodies than cars' bodies, but it's a lot later than '72 - you can tell by the crash bar in the front and the larger "Moke" badge which were only introduced in '78.
A '66 model, you say...........that would have be small (10 inch) wheels, yes ? They're extremely rare........... |

thats assuming that it is completely original, i drive with a mate that has 1969 model (first real full year of big wheelers, started halfway through 68)
the californian that everyone has come to love and know was really first introduced in 1971-72, and more commonly known as the Export moke, it had the "cali" front bar, rear tank and 1275 engine, gal body etc, the normal one that everyone assumes to be the californian started in 77-82 where the classic highline models etc were all the rage... as for the MOKE badge... ive got a few lying around you could have :P and yes, my little guy has 10" wheels, and handles more like a mini than a moke (lower COG also means its a little quicker in a corner )What cars+models do you have Jay??? i got my 66 moke, a 70 mini k, and recently a 72 clubman (and a couple rusted out 850 shells that i use for parts..) |

Annie may well abolish my membership for hijacking this thread, but I guess I have to answer the question...........
![]() I too have a 10 inch wheel Moke - came from a farmer near Grenfell NSW - 68 model I have owned it now since 1971 ; 2 "real" Californians" 1972 vintage being restored (one came from Magnetic Island in QLD where they used to hire them out); a 68 DeLuxe; a 62 Morris 850; a 68 Mini- Matic; and last but not least - the 3rd last Mini Sedan off the Aus production line - a 78 1275LS, which my aunt bought for me "as a souvenir" just before she died. Costs a fortune to run 'em all, so I don't...............![]() |
